Overview

We know your personal information is important to you, so it’s important to us. Our Privacy Policy details how your information is collected, used and shared when you use our Site and/or services. By using our Site and/or services, you agree that we can process your information in the ways set out in this Privacy Policy, so please read it. 

RECOM, WildApricot, GoDaddy and credit card companies are used to create and maintain this Site process members’ personal information (for example, Member name, email address, and address) and are therefore considered separate and independent data controllers of our Members’ personal information. That means that each party is responsible for the personal information it processes in providing the Services. For example, if Visa or Mastercard accidentally discloses a Member’s name and email address when another Member pays their dues, the credit card company, not RECOM, will be responsible for that unauthorized disclosure.

If, however, you (as a Member) and RECOM are found to be joint data controllers of Members’ personal information, and if RECOM is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did (or failed to do) as a joint data controller of your personal information stored on the Site, then you agree to defend and indemnify RECOM in accordance with the Indemnification section below.

Indemnification

We hope this never happens, but if RECOM gets sued or receives a claim, notice, or demand because of something that you did (or failed to do), you agree to defend and indemnify us. That means, without limitation, you’ll defend, reimburse, compensate, and hold RECOM (including any of our officers, directors, and affiliates) harmless from any allegation, claim, demand, lawsuit, loss, liability, or expense of any kind (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that arises from your actions, your use (or misuse) of our Site/Services, your breach of the Terms, and/or your actual or alleged violation of any law or any third party’s rights. We reserve the right to handle our legal defense however we see fit, even if you are indemnifying us, in which case you agree to cooperate with us so we can execute our strategy.

Collection, use and disclosure of personal information

RECOMAZ.org will collect information from the membership application and attendance at scheduled events. This information is needed to manage membership, dues, send emails, and to allow for registration at scheduled events. We do not share this data other than with the necessary data for third-party applications when paying membership dues. 

RECOM’s By-laws states, member’s personally-identifiable information shall be given out by Board members or any RECOM member only for the purpose of RECOM business, and never for any commercial purposes.

RECOM Members have the option of keeping their personal data private or sharing with other members.  Members can edit their privacy settings at any time by editing their member profile and changing the setting to opt-in or opt out-of some or all the information published in the directory for other members to see.

Giving consent for others

Members are not allowed to disseminate the directory information. We do not allow members to provide personal data about/for others, (for example: registering other members for events unless a Dual membership).

Third-party applications

We only share any personal data with third-party applications such as AffiniPay, MasterCard, Visa, or Zelle to allow for payment processing. Online payments through WildApricot Affinipay are completely secure – WildApricot is certified Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant, meaning that they adhere to the highest payment security standards.
